Summer Volunteer Orientation

July 15, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

We are so excited you are interested in volunteering with youthSpark!

Our mission is “to advocate for children who need legal and adult protection in abusive and exploitative situations,” and your support is essential to our success. However, before volunteering, we require all prospective volunteers to attend an orientation in order to learn more about our organization, understand what victim-centered volunteering entails, and how we prioritize victim-centered approaches in our advocacy, support, and research.

We anticipate the orientation will last approximately 90 minutes and is led by our veteran youthSpark staff. After completing the class, you will know more about how you, as an individual or community organization, can support our work with exploited and at-risk youth. This could take the form, for example, of (a) organizing a one-time or mini-series course for our youth e.g. yoga, job interviewing, (b) having your community group donate meals for one of our ongoing youth programs, or (c) joining our broader advocacy efforts. However, before you can begin, you must complete orientation!

We look forward to meeting you!
