Voices Early Intervention
Voices: The first sex trafficking early intervention program
In 2010 youthSpark launched the first-ever early intervention program for youth deemed “high risk” for sex trafficking victimization, or who were not ready to confirm their victimization. Today the Voices program has successfully served many young girls in Atlanta, and has achieved strong program outcomes.
It costs the public over $5,000 per month to provide residential services for a trafficked youth who didn’t get help early on, but only $3,000 for an entire year of early intervention services. An effective and cost-efficient model of serving and preventing youth victims of sex trafficking must include early intervention services as a core part of the continuum of care.
